Kiska

Analyzing Bottom Data
Art:
Line 100-117 area now has complete coverage south of the hill.
We are running E-W lines from north of slope to top of slope in sloppy weather with 25 kt winds from west and 8-10 foot seas. Current is two plus kts against us. But data is good.
Analysis and processing continues.
We are still looking for the 50% glassy calms recorded by the subs here in 1942.
Bruce:
Waves over 9 ft can prevent the search so we are on the border line of bad weather
The current search area includes the location indicated by the Aiura Battle Map
However its worth paying attention to the comment of Dr Joe Macinnis who lead the search for the HMS Breadalbane under the ice of the Northwast Passage. “I learned the hard way how difficult it is to find undersea objects.”
This search is not going to be easy and there is no guarantee.
Also of interest this note from Yutaka
“Pete’s message ‘I think we just saw the Arare go by on the sonar. ‘ had shaken me.
The deads are 104 crews beneath the sea, over the history, beyond the Japanese consciousness.
August 15 is an anniversary of Japan surrender. This month Japanese mass media treats much programs about the war memories.
Arare discovery news should be press released to Japanese media.”
Yutaka is aware that that sighting was false.
Best of luck to you in your quest; our thoughts and prayers are with you!
