Hi, Bruce: In re: Carson R Martin

I tried to post some comments this evening but I
can’t get it accepted. Just want to mention how very
successful I was in getting my Dad’s Military Service
Record. I saw on the Internet that it would take about
5- 6 mos to get the information thru the govt.

I sent the form instead with my Dad’s Service # and
my signature as next of kin along with the Grunion Story
to my State Senator’s office. He is Sen Joe Biden of
Delaware. Not too long later I got a very nice phone
call from his office offering their help. A few weeks
later a large packet of about 300 pages arrived with
my Dad’s records from age 18 to his demise at 32.
There was even a letter from him among the records.
I also received a very nice letter from the Senator.

In other words, the Grunion is a marvelous story
with all its twists and turns and the State officials are out
there to help their constituents.

The very nice family from Maryland contacted
me thru the story on the Internet. Their Grandparents
had known my Dad as a child when he worked in their
General Store. They lost contact with him and Friends located
the story thru his name attached to the Grunion. They sent
me personal letters from him. I am going to meet up
with them in the Spring since there is more family history they
have devulged to me and a very intriguing story of life way back when.
I did not know of this family or where my Dad had lived.

If you can post the information above I would appreciate it.
Keep up the great work.

Sincerely,

Meryl Kretschmann
