Col John Hart has just pointed out the source of the “Possible Crew of Grunion” photo. It is the USS Gato not the Grunion.

Jim Lucas, a realtive of Louis Doel found this photo on a website selling model subs, in particular Gato class ones. The officer in the middle looks like my dad. We were not able to find anything inconsistent with it being the Grunion. Does anybody recognize any of the crew?

Everybody made it back. Dave Gallo, the last to get home arrived at Manchester NH about 3:30 am then started the drive back to Woods Hole MA. Dave knew I was an early riser so at 5:00 am he dropped equipment off at my house in Newton and treated us toan [...]

8:30 EST. John just called. While at 45,00 ft they had a rapid drop in cabin pressure. They were able to land at a nearby airport.
At this time everybdy is OK.
Still unknown what caused the problem.
Will cause delay.
