Status Report August 26th

Posted on Sunday 26 August 2007

Bruce, Newton MA

Last night (Saturday) at 8:15 both of our phone lines AND the internet connection went dead. Major problem since this is the communication center for the project.

Called RCN. They said couldn’t be fixed until Monday sometime!!!!!

Got up at 2:00 am and went outside with flashlight to see if I could find downed line. No luck

Called RCN again, on hold for ½ hour. Never got an answer

Spent rest of night trying to figure a way to get RCN to fix line on Sunday morning.

Got up at 4:30 to call RCN.

Everything was working!!!!!

I’d like to thank you all for the great job you’re doing. As a fellow submariner (USS Salt Lake City SSN-716) I appreciate the importance of your search. I hope that all the missing boats that we honor in the tolling of the bells are found and can rest in peace. Fair wind and following seas to those forever on patrol.

Congratulations on your successful journey in finding the Grunion. I know this provides some degree of closure for you and the other relatives of the crew. I admire your efforts and as a son of a veteran of the great war I wish a to thank you for my Dad, who would have been most impressed with your effort.
