					<description>As I reflect on this moving experience of the finding of the Grunion, I'm reminded of a quote by one of my favorite authors, Thomas Merton.
&quot;People live and die in ways that are entirely consonant with their lifelong character.&quot;
My uncle, Carmine Anthony Parziale, as well as the other 69, personified the true American spirit of patriotism, heroism, and ultimately the most tremendous sacrifice.
In some ways, I'm reminded of that time in our history when grief and sorrow overwhelmed us. It is profound to recognize that when all of our human resources seem so inadequate, our Faith, spirituality and thankfully God's Providence give us a sense of peace and forgiveness. Our most sincere thanks.
