This blog has not been updated for several days. We have about 3000 photos and about 50 hours of video which needs to be transformed into a communicatable form. That takes a lot of time.
In addition the Today Show people took over the house for a couple of days and wanted video converted to a form that their Avid editing systems would undrerstand. Much more difficult than might be expected.
Plans: Hopefully by the end of the week we will update the home page of this website and start posting some of the 3000 photos. Many are really quite facinatiing.
There are several things that we have to do with the ROV (underwater) photos. First is to clean them up (remove the noise) The second thing is to put together a mosiac of the side and poissibly the top view of the sub. Then we plan to get a number of individuals experienced with Gato class subs to identify and annotate the parts in the photos.
Finally we plan to present this information in such a way that possible hypothesis can be developed as to the sub’s demise and then work out a way of evaluating the credibility of the various hypothesse.
