Memorial Update
Coordination for the Memorial is being handled by a committee consisting of members of the Abele family, Mary and Dick Bentz, and John Fakan, the director of the USS Cod Submarine Memorial in Cleveland. An email address (GrunionMemorial@aol.com) has been established as the point of email communication for the Memorial. If you have not already done so, it is important to let us know of your intentions by email to the GrunionMemorial@aol.com address . We need to get a reasonable estimate of attendees ASAP. Future information about the Memorial will either be posted on the blog by the Abele family or will come by email from the Memorial Committee.
i am niece of cremember edward earl knowles. i gave and took photos of bell to stan kendrick. i want credit where credit is due. stan kendrick is half brother in law and geraldine is half sister to edward earl knowles. also i want people to know half sister is trying to get a duplicate purple heart and my father billy knowles family has his orignal purple heart. please do not duplicate if anyone knows how i can contact navy on this matter please reply.
I am thrilled to be a part of this.I have lost so many of my family members,my sister,Margie Nobles Head died suddenly,11/2/2007.I have lost a child in past years as well.
For me to have connection with my “lost family members” Charleen Nobles Kerkes & John Wesley Nobles,Jr. and extended family of all the USS Grunion family members is a very special gift.
