Albert Ullmann from Philadelphia, PA was good friends in sub school with George Herold. George, a Pearl Harbor survivor, lives in West Melbourne, FL and remembers his friend Al so clearly. When I realized this is where Al’s story should be published I spoke with the Ullmann family and they agreed. I contacted Norman Moody, FLORIDA TODAY’s, military reporter and he was happy to write this story. Please visit http://www.999info.net/Ullman.pdf
Thank you, Norman, for contributing to our WWII American History.

Journalist Sharon Knuckles of Beverly, KY featured Daniel Emery Allen in the Red Bird Mission School’s 2008 Summer Newsletter. Sharon did research of her own and located two of Daniel’s friends who remember him well from their graduating class of 1940. To view the article, visit http://www.999info.net/Allen.pdf

Good article. Only two things Vickie did contact Anita Feast but Mrs. Feast has since passed away as the article said. As for the gentleman that once knew Arvan, his contact info just doesn't work anymore- we don't know if he too has passed away but with all the turmoil in south LA since Katrina there is no telling where he has ended up. Herbert Joseph Arvan had several siblings so hopefully descendants of one of them will see the article!

Lauren de Albuquerque, journalist for The TIMES of Southwest Louisiana published an excellent article entitled "ETERNAL PATROL, The Fate of the U.S.S. Grunion and the Search for a Native Son." With this article, we are hoping somebody will remember Herbert Joseph Arvan of DeQuincy, LA. To see it go to http://www.999info.net/Arvan.pdf
