I was impressed, It is because US navy rediscover USS Grunion. As for it, the nation admitted the death of the crew who was missing for a long time.
It is sad to have lost dear people. However, it is wonderful that the nation was impressed on crew's efforts.
I guess that they were wishes of bereaved families.

Aleution where nature is beautiful will become and never to suffer from the war again, the submarine become a sign that keeps defending the sea through all eternity.

Children who share a sad memory promise to fathers. We never fight mutually.
And We are proud of braves.

From Kure naval city in Japan.

I work at Electric Boat in Grotion, CT where our subs are built. I note in one of the photo that a hatch is fully open. It is possible that some of the crew may have gotten out of the sub or attempted to get out before it when down.

In just the past week or so, this story has captured my attention. I just wanted to THANK YOU all for sharing this with the world. To know that there are families out there that aren't giving up hope on those lost, is a wonderful thing! BE PROUD! You're father would be I'm sure. To know that his sons never gave up bringing their dad "home". My thoughts and prayers to your families, the families of those lost in not only the Grunion, but also the Japanese vessels, and those behind the scenes that were instrumental in making it happen.
