Thanks to Ms. Janis Kozlowski and the National Park Service. Anchorage, Alaska the USS Grunion and its crew have been honored in their 2010 calendar by devoting the month of January to their memory.

This is a beautiful calendar and what a wonderful tribute to USS Grunion and our crew of 70. It has been a pleasure working with Janis.
During that time in the summer of 1942, I was a crewmember on USS FINBACK (SS230). We were operating with the GRUNION in that area of the Aleutians, and were ordered to try and contact her around the end of July. I believe we made two attempts at this with no success and notified COMSUBPAC. - I did Sub School in the summer of 1941 with Al Ullman, a GRUNION crew member. He was from the Philadelphia area.
