During that time in the summer of 1942, I was a crewmember on USS FINBACK (SS230). We were operating with the GRUNION in that area of the Aleutians, and were ordered to try and contact her around the end of July. I believe we made two attempts at this with no success and notified COMSUBPAC. - I did Sub School in the summer of 1941 with Al Ullman, a GRUNION crew member. He was from the Philadelphia area. A great guy. - George Herold, Melbourne, FL

This is a beautiful calendar and what a wonderful tribute to USS Grunion and our crew of 70. It has been a pleasure working with Janis.
